An interesting new Kickstarter project caught our attention this week.
“Beam” is essentially a miniaturised projector that can be screwed into existing light fittings and project the input from your mobile devices directly onto any flat surface.
An app has also been developed in conjunction with Beam for further ease of use. Additionally, using the app, you can program Beam’s functions around defined events (i.e IF I come home before 6pm THEN start playing “my happy-dance song”). Beam can connect any device via WiFi or Bluetooth.
The idea is simple and the design is minimalist and functional. On their Kickstarter page, the creators admit that when it came to the design, they wanted an “object that can earn its own space in every room, without being noticed on a first glance.”
Our team designed a product with a modern minimalistic look. It feels like a modern lamp, but when you look closer you notice there is more to this lamp than you thought.
As Beam has already reached its Kickstarted goal, there is no question if it will be going into production, however there are some stretch goals with the promise of some cool additional features to be added.
